4 Tips For Getting Referrals

While it is definitely possible to make money from GPT and PTC sites on your own, a great way to potentially increase your earnings is through referrals. Here are a few ways to get referrals:

Tell People About It- Tell your family, friends and co-workers what you are doing. Also, be sure to show them proof of your payments. I know that when I started working online I told my family and friends that I was going to get paid just to take surveys and complete offers they actually said "Yeah, right". They assumed that there was some catch involved or that I would have to spend money. A few months later when they started to see the checks coming in they quickly changed their minds and several of them asked me to send them info and links to the sites.
**Just remember that if a family member is going to join one of your GPT/PTC sites, make sure that they do not live in your household or use the same computer as you. This will cause it to look like you have multiple accounts and you could be banned from the site(s)**

Forums- If you are a member of any forums, put your referral link in your forum signature (if it is allowed). Also, if they are GPT or PTC forums there is a good chance they will have threads dedicated specifically for people looking for or wanting to exchange referrals.

Buy advertising- I personally have found that PTC sites are a great (and inexpensive) place to buy advertising. Most PTC sites will let you use your internal funds or points to purchase ads. There are also several types of ads you can buy including banner ads, ptc links and direct signups.

Fliers- Make up a few fliers with info and links to your GPT/PTC sites. Post the fliers on bulletin boards wherever you can from grocery stores to college campuses.

I Signed Up At PayPerPost!

I first heard about payperpost over a year ago. It sounded like fun, but at the time I didn't have a blog and really had no idea where to go or how to get one started.
Then, about 2 months ago, I joined the Independent World Community forum. A lot of the members there have had great success with payperpost and really do seem to enjoy it. I decided to give it a try. I submitted this blog and, after only a few hours, I got the email saying that I was approved!

PayPerPost is a place where advertisers pay bloggers to post about their products, services, and websites. What I love about payperpost is that they give me a list of available opportunities and, out of those, I get to choose which ones I want to write about. I also like that it gives new bloggers like myself a chance to gain more experience, while at the same time making some extra money. What's not to like about that???

This really has great earning potential. I am hoping to at least make enough money over the next few months to take a trip down to Orlando. My best friend is having a baby soon and I would love to go see her. I also need to check out some apartments while I'm down there.

I will definitely keep everyone updated on my progress at payperpost. If you have your own blog and have ever considered blog marketing, I highly recommend checking it out!

Working At Home

Since starting this blog, I have received several emails from readers interested in working from home. They wanted to know what kind of work I do, how I got started and if it is really possible to make a living working online.
Although I do make money online, right now it is only something I do in my spare time. My full time job is working as a Day Care provider. I have been working at home for 2 yrs, starting soon after my daughter Mya was born. While I sometimes miss my former job as a medical tech, I love the fact that I get to be at home with her everyday. Being a single mom, I know that if I worked outside the home I would most likely be working 2 jobs just to pay for the cost of her daycare and gas (which was $4.20 a gallon here over the holiday weekend!)to get to and from work.

Having said all that....I will soon be moving back to Florida and, since we will be living in an apartment instead of a house, I will not be opening a Daycare there. So, like the readers that have contacted me, I too am in search of another WAH job. I have been doing a lot of research. I know there are many options available, and I am considering expanding my blog to include not just what I do with the GPT and PTC sites but also my quest to find a full time online job.

I also wanted to say thank you for all the comments and feedback you have given me. I really do appreciate it!

Buzzshed - Get Paid To Watch Videos

Recently I signed up at Buzzshed, a website that pays you to watch online video clips. When you sign up at BuzzShed, you fill out a personal profile about your lifestyle and interests. You also get to set the minimum amount of money you will accept for a videoclip. When an advertiser wants to distribute a video, Buzzshed will send a BuzzClip to all members meeting the profile requirements for that video. A Buzzclip is an email that is sent to you with a link to the video. When you go to Buzzshed to view the video it will tell you how much you will be paid for the video and will credit your account as soon as you view it.
I have received 2 videos from them so far. Each one was approximately 30 seconds long and paid $0.40. You need a minimum balance of $10 to cashout. After cashing out, payments are made on the first of the following month via Paypal.

Play A Game and Win Some Moola!

Another way to make some extra cash online is by playing games! Yes, you can actually play games and earn free cash! One of my favorite game sites is Moola

MOOLA is an online game site that is currently in the beta test phase. It is 100% free to join. Players receive their first penny from Moola to bet against other players. You will be shown a 10, 15 or 30-second video ad before each game and will sometimes have to answer a trivia question about the ad. By winning games you can turn that 1 penny into 2, 2 pennies into 4 and so on.

Moola currently has 3 different games to choose from:
Hi/Lo - in Each player has to decide if the next card shown will be higher or lower than the last. If you guess correctly you will move on to the next card. If you are wrong you will lose a life and start over from the beginning. The player to get the farthest with the most lives remaining wins.
Ro-Sham-Bo-Fu- This is basically an online version of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Gold Rush-Each player is given 6 gold nuggests (which are numbered from 1 to 6) In each round, a random numbered niggest will be placed on a scale. You then have to choose one of your 6 gold nuggets to place on a scale against the other player's choice. If the scale is tipped in your favor (side with the highest total number), you win.

I have been playing games on Moola for awhile now and it is alot of fun! The minimum to cashout is $10. Your first cashout will be by check but after that you will also have the option to cashout via Paypal.

***A note to US residents...the check that you will receive from Moola will be from a Canadian bank. You might want to check with your own bank first to see if they have any fees or restrictions on cashing international checks. I have heard of a few people that have had issues with that. I personally had no problems, but that could be because I only live a few hours from Canada***

Paid Surveys + Product Test Payments!

In a recent post I talked about doing Paid Surveys. Now here is proof that they really do pay. Just received my latest payments from Synovate ($10) and Pinecone Research ($3).
I also recently did a product test for one of the survey sites. All I had to do was use the product that they sent me for 10 days, then fill out the online survey. It took about 2 weeks to receive my payment for the Product Test ($10). I have to say I was surprised. This is the first time I have ever been paid in cash for something I did online.

Paid Surveys- Are They Worth It?

My answer to that question is definately YES! However, I didn't always feel that way. When I first started looking for ways to make money online, I heard alot about doing Paid Surveys. I found a great list of legit (FREE) survey sites and signed up for many of them. Later that same day I received my first survey. I was excited! I quickly started to fill it out when, after only about 3 questions, I was told I didn't qualify.
Ok, no big deal. The next day 2 more surveys arrived from a different survey site. Once again, I didn't qualify. After 2 weeks of filling out (and not qualifying for) about 10 surveys I started to get frustrated and discouraged. Was this really worth my time?? I didn't think so. So I stopped doing them.
A few months later I talked to a couple people online that were making $100-$300 a month doing surveys. I told them about my experience and asked what their secret was.
I was surprised to hear that the same thing had happened to them. The only difference was that they stuck with it. Eventually they started qualifying for some of them and in turn also began to receive surveys more frequently. So, I decided to give Paid Surveys one more try. They were right! It started off slowly, only making a few dollars for the first month or so. But now, 6 months later, I average about $150 a month. I have also, through the paid surveys, been invited to participate in product tests, phone surveys and just recently a local focus group, which paid $100 for only 2hrs of my time! Now I have to say, paid surveys will not be for everyone. But if you are interested in giving them a try, these are a few of my favorite Paid Survey Sites.

Blog Updates

I know that it has been awhile since I have posted. I have been on vacation for the past 2 weeks. But I am back now and plan to update my blog daily.
